Looking for good deals?

Items on Educycle are currently only for Bay Area teachers, schools, and districts.  You can find gently-used items for a fraction of the price or even better…FREE!  All items are listed by educators and businesses near your area.

First you need to create an account.  Why?  It is important for us to create a safe online neighborhood community.  All members have to be a part of a San Francisco Bay Area educational organization, whether as a teacher, administrator, school, or district.  (Don’t worry non-Bay Area people…we will expand to your area soon!)

Browse for items.  After you have created your account, you are ready to browse for items!  There are many ways you can browse for items.  You can browse by subjects, grades, categories, price, location, and keywords.  There is also a special section where you can find items that are free, under $5, or donated by businesses.

You can click on each listing for more details.  Be sure you check out the price, when the listing expires, and where the item is located.  If you want to see more listings by that person/business, just click on their profile picture to see just their listings.

Business donations. Don’t forget to look under our Business Donations section!  You can find a lot of great stuff there!  Since all items are donated (i.e. FREE!) we ask that  you bring a “Thank You” letter typed on your school’s letterhead with your school’s tax ID number if the business asks for it.  Local businesses love helping out schools.   Let’s keep them coming back with more free items!

My Wishlist.  If you see something you like, but want to keep browsing, just click on the heart located next to the post and we will add it to your Wishlist.  You can always access your wishlist later to compare or buy.

Sending messages.  If you would like to buy an item or get more information about it, click on “contact seller” and send them a message.  They will in turn send you a message through our private messaging system.

We will notify you through email whenever you receive a new message.  Just go to our site, log in, and click on the envelope icon to access your message.  For safety reasons, be careful about what personal information you give.  Educycle will never ask for your password, mother’s maiden name, bank account number, etc.

The exchange.  You and the seller can use our messaging system to make pick up and payment arrangements.  We recommend that you always meet at a public place like your school or business.  The goal of Educycle is to connect local teachers and businesses with other local teachers and businesses.

Educycle is free so use away and have fun!

Sincerely,

Mary and The Educycle Team
